A cuttlebone is a natural product and isn't actually a bone at all. Instead, it is the inner shell of a squid-like cephalopod called a cuttlefish. Cuttlebone has various benefits for your bird. Ingesting some of it, they will benefit from the calcium, it will polish a bird's beak and also help to remove the outer scaly layers, it also is an object of play and exercise. Not all caged birds use cuttlebone, but for those that like it, cuttlebone can be a healthy interactive item for the cage, playstand or playtop.
